We used it so our CEO based out in Canada could remotely switch on our office Christmas Tree lights here in the UK last year, using a short range wireless switch from EnOcean, an instance of MobiusFlow and some programmable fairy lights. The four button switch could be clicked, to switch on and off, or pulse colours, or change the colours.

we used it to bypass our door entry system in the office so we could buzz people in from our phones from anywhere with an internet connection.
