How did it start?
Our Middleware Vision
Our middleware journey began over 17 years ago as a commissioning solution to help our engineers and project managers to efficiently, reliably, and securely execute projects.
Take on more projects, reduce costs and offer a wider range of solutions.
You can watch our vision in the adjacent video or watch it on YouTube via the link above.
By engineers, for engineers
Our Journey so far...
Founded as a solution provider for building and lighting control systems in 2004 our engineers have evolved the art of connecting, controlling and communicating with a wide range of new and old sensors, devices and digital ecosystems.
We are now building a network of trained system integrators and solution providers globally to benefit from this system, expand your product offering and increase revenue by providing complete solutions for new customers and your existing users.
Our History
Interior Automation founded.
To provide commissioning and configuration of industrial control systems and lighting control solutions.
Commissioning of industrial control systems for lighting.
Fully qualified PLC engineers required to deploy complicated solutions to simple problems.
Heathrow lighting control contract won.
50,000+ DALI light fittings and 10,000+ BMS points to be commissioned quickly efficiently and reliably.
Developed 'Blueprint' configuration and control solution software
Simplified the commissioning of lighting and BMS points by untrained personnel.
Won contract to commission lighting and BMS for school.
Reworked and reused Blueprint.
It all started with a paint tin.
One of our engineers on site commissioning sensors and control devices for a construction company as part of their 'off site' build project. Sat on a paint tin with a laptop.
New version of Blueprint proposed as a result of time being wasted on site.
Lack of internet connection for Blueprint starting to cause problems for our engineers.
Lighting control for IBM Hursley
IBM Watson integration required
Blueprint replacement planning
Wish list and scoping out of requirements to improve and enhance Blueprint.
New features and processes agreed, development team starts work on new system.
Late 2014 initial beta testing started.
Internal training for installation engineers starts.
Blueprint 2.0 used and deployed successfully.
Benefits of Blueprint being realised
New system making our engineers more efficient and allowing more projects to be taken on and delivered on time and on budget.
User experience an issue and needs development
Rebrand suggested to mark the launch of the new user interface.
MobiusFlow registered as a trademark
Blueprint fully operational and development of the new version started and to be called 'MobiusFlow'.
Interior Automation rebrands as IAconnects
To reflect the new direction for the business into a fully fledged IoT solutions company, the word 'Interior' is no longer relevant. IA Connects Technology or IA for short is established.
Beta testing of MobiusFlow starts.
User interface and commissioning flow testing with our engineers starts.
MobiusFlow Deployed
First project successfully deployed as 'MobiusFlow®' blueprint whilst still in use now being phased out.
Award - Technical Innovation of the Year
IAconnects receives recognition for the MobiusFlow® Edge Gateway at the BCIA Awards 2019
MobiusFlow Remote commissioning
1000+ sensors successfully commissioned in one go in the US remotely from the UK.
Investment received to turn MobiusFlow into a commercial product.
The benefits of MobiusFlow as a commissioning, connection and control solution realised and it is proposed that it is rebuilt from the ground up and made publicly available to approved resellers and system integrators.
Planning starts to develop licensing, new user interface and complete rebuild of the core MobiusFlow to ensure future deployments can be managed, updated and secured.
VP Business Development North America appointed
MobiusFlow split from IAconnects Technology into a separate company to focus on developing the middleware and allow IA to continue as an approved system integrator and solution provider.
Development of MobiusFlow 2.0 started
MobiusFlow LITE released
February 2023 MobiusFlow LITE EnOcean Edition launched to connect EnOcean devices to the cloud via Aruba Wi-Fi access points.
Signing up new resellers and system integrators who will benefit from MobiusFlow®
Development of training courses and the approved reseller programme.
MobiusFlow 2.0 to be launched
Q4 2023 launch MobiusFlow 2.0
MobiusFlow Manager Beta - January 2024 see the initial testing of the MobiusFlow Manager to help our customers manage their instances of MobiusFlow
Roll out of production version of MobiusFlow 2.0 starts Q1
Q1 Beta testing of MobiusFlow Manager goes well with production version launch date set for May 2024.
MobiusFlow Manager Launched
April 2024 following the initial testing and customer feedback. MobiusFlow Manager is launched to help our customers manage their instances of MobiusFlow
